- photography
- painting
- sculpture
- installation work
- lens-based media
- performance art
- digital art
Dwelling in Extremis
PG exhibition and symposium, 13 - 16 May 2022, co-organised by the MFA Art & Humanities students and PG students from English and Philosophy
You can individually tailor a part of your study and choose to complete the course with either an exhibition of creative work or a major written dissertation as your final project.
The course encourages both creative and academic research and you will be encouraged to read critically and analytically, and to develop your abilities in critical, contextual, and theoretical thinking. You will develop your understanding of research methods relevant to fine art and humanities research-based practices.
We run a University-wide lecture series, with speakers in English, film, and philosophy, which we encourage you to attend.
“Even before I applied I’d heard a lot about the creative freedom that you get here. The fact that you can just walk into a foundry and talk to one of the technicians and in the next hour be bronzing is brilliant – that’s not always the case at other institutions. Overall, studying here has been a really great opportunity for me to tap into the expertise of the staff.”
Nick Brodie, MFA Art & Humanities graduate
